Greek numbering has an accent on the letters. Academic numbering has not, it is just plain greek letters. You can see the difference in Mellel's auto-flow numbering scheme pop up list.

I'm curious -- Did the Times New Roman from Office2004 free trial (v. 3.05) not have the characters you needed? Mine does, will be happy to send you a copy if you want. It is TrueType. Ugh, I knew there was something I wanted to check. Now I have done that: You were absolutely right. In the fonts f...

Thanks to all of you. Just wanted to let you know that for the time being I settled with Martin's suggestion and will use Times as secondary font. That works just fine for me. However I will check my Windows machine in the office in Monday to see whether the TNR font there is indeed open type. And I...

I even have the education-version of Office 2004. So I'll check the installation CD.

Thanks,

Automator seems to be a bit fishy, but I managed. 1) Go to http://mellel.davi.cz/ and download the Outliner.zip package. 2) Unzip, you’ll get the Automator workflow and the XSL template. 3) Put the template into your home directory. 4) Open the template with a text editor and set the names of the s...

Re: font substitution

What special characters are you actually talking about? Surely it is not "?". Someone might have a suggestion about how to get a Times New Roman that has it for free. No, it is not "?". But the one I use apparently can't be displayed by the forum's text engine. It is the an &quo...

font substitution

I ran into a problem with Mellel's font substitution. I am using the font Times New Roman for my papers. However, the font I have seems not to have "special characters". E.g. I need the letter "?", which is not part of the Times New Roman font I have. So Mellel replaces the font ...

Heh, sorry :) I did not know how much verbose I should be. You have to download the script, save it somewhere on your path, make it executable and you are ready to go. 1) Downloading should be no trouble at all. 2) Putting it on your path. This is a bit tricky. If you just want to play with it, sim...

OK, here it goes: http://mellel.davi.cz/ . I guess the XSL style is a good starting point for anybody who wants to write some other kind of outliner, for example an HTML outliner or an OPML export. zoul, that sounds really great. The only thing is I have absolutly no idea how I run a Perl script. D...

I wonder if there is any good reason for Mellel not to allow two or more auto-title flows to have the same structural level. I can't see any, but I could be overlooking something. That would be one way that the developers could solve this problem properly. Yes, I also wondered about this. Having th...

While I appreciate the introduction of further zoom-levels, I agree with gke and Thimotheus that more flexibility in the area of 100% through 170% would make a lot of sense for those using portable Macs.

Strange, I never had the idea that one would want to open the spellings file in Mellel instead of in a text editor. I would guess the reason for this is that a list of words belonging to different categories is something distinctly different to a flow of text that contains individual formatting, no...

Learned Spelling in xml-Format

I see from the release notes of Mellel 2.1. that the learned spelling file is now in .xml-format. I am wondering what the benefit of this file type is. I was hoping that I could open and edit a list of learned spelling like it is possible in MS-Word, but it won't open in Mellel, at all. Nevertheless...
