Please note: when you export to rtf, citation *objects* disappear as such, as Robert says—but the citations themselves are carried through, so that you can scan the document in Word if you so wish.

Another option: Ctr + opt + x (whatever number you have associated with that paragraph style) refreshes the style with the saved changes.

Well, the Redlers have stated with emphasis that they will be in MacWorld with mighty things to present. I guess it´s safe to assume this will be the much-waited big update. So then, I would say the update will be in January. Just my guess, though…

Nicka, I agree with you. Joewiz, thanks for the suggestions. In the meanwhile, I have made a formal feature request and the Redlers responded, with lightning speed, that this feature is planned for version 2.2.

Cheers!

Restart bibliographic references in every section?

Hi, I'm posting this on the Bookends and Mellel fora. I would like to be able to restart references in every new section in my text, very much in the same way as I can restart note numbering. Here is why. In Chicago A style (as well as in others), you present a reference in full the first time you c...

I think you select English in the Character Style window, which aplies to all documents using that style, and then choose the British English dictionary as I described before, which is document-specific.

It's much simpler than that. Press apple + colon keys for the Spelling window (or get there through the Edit menu) and choose the dictionary you want.

[quote="davef" I do have one question though. Is mellel capable of redlining a document.[/quote]
Short answer is, nope. There are long threads on this topic, please refer to them.

Martin, thanks for your suggestions. Both should work while the feature is (hopefully) in line for implementation. As for the utility of such a feature, the main reason would be compactness. Often, when one has many section titles, to list them makes for an overly long TOC. So, the solution would be...

Thank you for the solution. After playing with replace styles a bit, I found out how to do this. Now if I could select more than one footnote at once to replace styles... Well (assuming you have the same style in every footnote), you can go to a given footnote and check what is the name of the styl...

Martin, thanks for the response. Actually, I had already designed a Find and Replace action to do what you describe. There is a problem, though. When the TOC is compiled using one line for each section title, it spreads over more than one page, and page numbers for the TOC are calculated on this bas...

Question regarding auto-titles

Okay, since no one answered my previous question, I will reformulate it so as to make it as clear as possible. I would like to set up a set of autotitles with two hierarchical levels, one for chapters and one for chapter sections, so that, in the Table of Contents, the sections-level auto-titles wou...

Re: Style variations and formatted input from Bookends

If I understand you correctly, the problem is with this scenario: A. You set up the replacements for bold, italic, etc. in Preferences > Bibliography. Actually, my post is an old one. In the meanwhile, I learned to to what Ori is here assuming I already knew (but I didn't). I also learned the proce...

Question: TOC level with no line breaks?

Hi, I would like to define a secondary level for chapter sections, where auto-titles would appear in the Table of Contents without line breaks between one auto-tile and the next. Something like this: 4. Lunar Revolutions 93 Lunar Births (93) Horned Moon (95) Time Reversals (99) Sloughing Ancestors (...

New Find, auto-titles, and citations

In-place editing, and searching, within auto-titles is awesome. But the emerging difference between auto-titles and citations, which otherwise look the same kind of encapsulated objects, is not. While auto-titles have ceased being autist, citations remain so. For instance, today I realized I had con...
