I'd very much like to see BibDesk/Mellel integration, but as it stands now there are big technical hurdles. BibDesk is passive, meaning you can't define styles in the way you can with Sente/Bookends. This is done with BibTeX which doesn't integrate with Mellel. It would a big addition to BibDesk to ...

Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh, but one ought never base their work on the anticipated release of something. Mellel will eventually have cross-referencing. However, no one except the Redlers know when that will be. If you are dependent on this feature to complete your work, then your work (for the m...

Re: Some comments regarding feature requests

T FrameMaker used a completely different paradigm and approach to documents: each page was made of floating frames that could be moved and linked to one another. Mellel is a stream–based word processor that uses no frames whatsoever. While free–floating frames may be useful for some situations, I c...

Feature request: .Mac syncing of settings and styles

The ability to sync different machines is one of the really nice features of Apple's .Mac service. Since I use Mellel on several machines, I'd really appreciate it if templates, styles and especially hyphenation rules would be synced automatically.

Something I'd like to see: References to page ranges. Probably not too difficult to do, but I'd like to see something along this line:

- Reference-In point,
- Reference-Out point
- Depending on the range a reference which is in the form of 21 f. or 21-27.

A LaTeX export module would indeed be very cool and probably not too difficult to make. I agree with Stephen Still that more markup is doable. Headings would definitely be useful. I guess it would mean that you'd have to use pre-defined styles titles (-> convert paragraph style "Header1" t...
