Re: (niche) Feature request: chemical formulae
Unfortunately, those programs don't seem to support OpenType formatting. OpenType sub/superscripts look much nicer.

Re: PhD thesis with Mellel/Bookends/Numbers
For Bookends, did you import the references from some file, or did you manually enter them? If you manually entered them, did you copy and paste into the "Title" field of the book? If so, that carried the character formatting with it. There are a couple of ways to fix that. In the section ...

Re: Trouble with Outline
Has drag and drop ever worked? My Outline drag and drop has previously stopped working as well. Closing Mellel and reopening it fixed the problem, though. As far as the Titles of your Auto-titles not showing up in the Outline, make sure that you have inserted a "Title" element into the Out...

Re: PhD thesis with Mellel/Bookends/Numbers
1) In Bookends, double check to make sure the Book type in the format manager is properly formatted. Also, make sure the output format is as 'Styled Text'. Go to Biblio -> Bibliography -> Then make sure 'Styled Text' is chosen after 'as' under the format. 2) No idea about Numbers, but one method mig...

Re: (niche) Feature request: chemical formulae
Oh, that works wonderfully! (Didn't even know it could be done.)
Now if there were only a keyboard shortcut for "Replace all" I could select the chemical formula, command-F, then command-something. Would make things much quicker.

Re: (niche) Feature request: chemical formulae
That does indeed work, thanks. Unfortunately, I'm unable to apply OpenType formatting (real subscripts) in this manner. The ability to assign frequently used Find/Replace functions to a button or keyboard shortcut would also be useful. I suppose there is no need for the formula to be an auto-title, ...

(niche) Feature request: chemical formulae
Since the foundations of automatic formatting are already laid in Mellel (Auto-titles), I think it would be a really cool feature to be able to assign a string of text a "chemical formula" auto-title. This would essentially take all numbers in a string and subscript them. So you could type...

Re: Character formatting not kept in Auto-titles (Figures)
Annnnnd, with Mellel 3.3 beta (build 29) everything seems to be working properly now. I haven't extensively tested it, but a quick trial ToC insert seems to retain character formatting! As soon as my advisor comes back with my dissertation corrections, I can quickly remedy the formatting errors in m...

Re: Character formatting not kept in Auto-titles (Figures)
It's a shame that fixing the Auto-title issue didn't automatically fix the ToC issue as well.
Good to hear that it's resolved. I'd like to try the new build as soon as possible.

Re: No palettes in full screen?
Still happens with another user account. After switching to Fullscreen mode in Mellel, the console gives the following errors. (This is before attempting to toggle Palettes by mousing up so that the tool bar comes down and selecting Window --> Palettes --> Toggle Palettes.) Dock: CGSSetWindowListAlp...

Re: No palettes in full screen?
Palettes do display in Fullscreen mode, but they will not toggle. Toggle does function when not in Fullscreen.

Re: Character formatting not kept in Auto-titles (Figures)
Oh, and I also tried to select the "title" element and apply the appropriate character style directly (in ToC format), but was still unsuccessful. The character formatting doesn't make its way to the ToC.

Re: Character formatting not kept in Auto-titles (Figures)
Yes, I've gotten text formatting to map to Auto-title formatting. I cannot get the ToC formatting to work, though. I edited the "Regular" character style so that G was subscript. The "Regular" character style is associated with the "Regular" paragraph style. I applied t...

Re: Character formatting not kept in Auto-titles (Figures)
I've just tested the new build of 3.3 (3.3.0b27). Character formatting is kept in Figure Auto-titles. This is good! Unfortunately, the major problem is not solved. Character formatting is still not kept in Table of Contents. The same character formats are associated with the the original text, the A...
