Yes, this is something planned.

One of the reasons I am reluctant to do much writing in Mellel is the absence of an ability to make hyperlinks from the text to URLs or to documents/files on my hard drive. Don't hold your breath. The Mellel development is dead as far as I see it. I would be super surprised if we are ever going to see a version 2.7.... :( Which is really too bad as Mellel is a kickass program, that could easily be one of the very best programs ever to be made for the Mac - juuuuuuust ...

Mellel 2.6.1 is out. It's a minor update, with mostly bug fixes, but noteworthy because some of the bugs are those who were discussed here at length during the past two weeks (the Bookends/Sente problem, for one).

Today I noticed that my iDisk was syncing ALL of my Mellel files. When I later went to open one I found it was empty (i.e., zero KB) and the file would not open.
