I once played around with Greek as second language, ticked it in the list of the OSes keyboard settings, switched to it and set the second font in Mellel to Greek. Worked fine. As did the fine tuning of the second font's size to make it fit perfectly into the line height of the main font. Switching ...

Which gave me an idea:

Try Shift + Fn + Enter – then something happens different to just using Shift + Enter. A new page is created, but I don't know if it's done the way you want it, Mark.

No idea at all, just exactly what you described with my new thin keyboard too. I got today's keyboard update too and the bugs – F3/Exposé and F4/Dashboard not working – were there after the first update and are now fixed. Bugs aside, the new keyboard layout is not very Mellel friendly anyway because...

Klaus, which version of Bookends are you using? I use version 9 and I have never faced any problems with umlauts at all. If you have troubles with Bookends 10 it might be worth it to switch back to 9. If you decide to do so make contact directly with Jon from Sonny software and explain him your situ...

I was asked where I found the typewriter icon that can be seen in the screenshot above.

I couldn't remember but just a few ago days I stumbled over the url by pure coincidence. And that's it:

I got problems too when importing rtfs from the Palm OS word processor WordSmith – the text lines in Mellel are just black bars. I'm not easily scared and my first guess was right: The "bars" were black characters on black background. This can be fixed easily but it is annoying because I w...

Reiner, I have been using CocoAspell only for a short time so I can't give you no more than a "not bad, not perfect either" yet. I am happy to have my "muß" and "daß" back. On the other hand I had to untick the "Allow run-together words" box because it generat...

Mellel is designed very beautifully (after you have replaced the brushed metal by aqua) but it's icon doesn't match this beauty at all. So I too took something else. Here is my solution: http://www.eugenegner.com/bilder/icons_dock.png From left to right: – shrinked Scrivener icon (still not really ...

Like ocean, I don't know anything about the technical side of Mellel's hyphenation lab so forgive me if my question is totally stupid: Do the modifications of the hyphenation dictionary work together with CocoAspell? I replaced the German dictionary of the OS by Aspell because so I get the pre-refor...

My first guess would be that Yeo 1994 has the wrong type in the Bookends data base, not article but something else that is set to be put out in the way you get it. Click on this article in your Bookends data base list and check what you get in the "view formatted" box below that list. If w...

Sorry for my silly and maybe confusing book title (which is purely fictional as is the author). What I meant was just a simple {some reference identifier@pagenumber}. (Explanation below) But I want to start at the beginning, there still seems to be some misunderstanding. First thing is, you create a...

The usual workflow should be like described above. One thing could be added: What do you do when you already have written a text with citations but without using the Bookends / Mellel combo that way? For this case is the "convert text into citations" function in the menu (note that I use t...

Bookends, for all of the reasons mentioned in the posts above.

But the best thing is that you can get free trial versions of both Bookends and Sente and find out which one fits most to your needs before buying.

Experiences with ordering from Germany without credit card?

Hello!

I want to order the Mellel + Bookends combo via Kagi.

Since I'm a broke freelance writer and no bank would ever give me a credit card I decided to use wire transfer.

Has anyone here done this and can you tell me if the bank gets a high fee for transferring to the US?

Thanks in advance!
