Re: critical edition

No, Pauline, this is not possible: not with Mellel, nor with Word or any other conventional word processor. No word processor was ever designed for similar things. Please don't waste your time trying to square the circle. For what you want, there are only two possibilities: - Classical Text Editor (...

Re: Mellel developers... you out there?

I fully agree with rpcameron. Personally, I care very little about versions for other platforms. I'd rather see improved the present version of Mellel, which for me (and perhaps not only for me) will remain the only that really matters.

Re: INDEX

Unfortunately, I must agree with rpcameron. That road map is over 2.5 years old, yes, but an index feature was promised (and announced for a not too distant future) at least 5 years ago. The last five or six updates have certainly brought many new features, but not the features I was waiting for: in...

Re: What can you tell us about Mellel Lite?

Interesting, moreover, is the version number of Mellel Lite: 3.1.0. Does this imply that version 3.1 of its elder brother will ship soon?

@kjmatthews: the discussion on indexing was restarted, not started, in april 2011. It was started by the Redlers themselves in 2006 (!). See here.

Re: 3.0 Wish List

Let me add just another one:

a word processor that "was designed to allow you to create long and sophisticated documents" (a quote from the site) should absolutely have a split window function. I miss it each and every day.

Re: Mellel 2.9 is fantastic

An image placement feature without the possibility to provide them of legends is indeed rather useless; and the same holds true for track changes without comments and without flawless interchange with Word.

Re: Mellel and Lion

Five, or even three years ago I was a very staunch supporter of Mellel; now, to be honest, a rather tepid one. Tired of waiting too long for too many things. In the past five years, I have seen gradually turning this forum from a very crowded place into an almost deserted one. Sad but true. For my s...

Re: Mellel and Lion

Thanks, Patrick, for your correction. Clearly, my memory failed me here, perhaps because I purchased Snow Leopard some six months after its release, and then didn't have any issues.

But I would be nice to get some comment from the developers.

Re: Mellel and Lion

I have no idea; but in the past Mellel was always Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard ready by the time these systems came out, and I presume this time things won't be different. So I don't think there is any reason for pessimism.

Re: The new Nisus Pro contains

@rpcameron: I agree that for those who don't write in languages like Arabic, Hebraic, Farsi etc., Nisus is a very attractive choice. Nisus 2.0 is a very good upgrade, and now the application has a whole range of features which are still lacking in Mellel: besides the ones you mention, there are for ...
