Zdula, Sounds like a specific system problem on your computer. Just for starters, -- I would run regular system maintenance, -- then I would backup Mellel (including the plist files) and delete everything having to do with the application, -- I'd run maintenance again, and -- finally I'd install a f...

Re: Mellel's hompage hinting at initials as new Mellel featu

You can make an initial with Mellel, it's just a little messy: you have to play with indents and baseline shift.

Reiner, I think it's a mistake to assume that it has to be columns or tables. I find both useful, but there are features missing in each. For columns: 1. what you call synoptical views. (Others have referred to this option as multiple work flows.) 2. option to link/allign text between the columns/wo...

Re: MinonPro from Mellel to InDesign
I guess that the thin space is the solution for works that I need to make ready with Mellel alone. A much less learned version of this issue was raised on the Redlers email group. To repeat what I wrote there: using a thin space can create positioning problems . A better choice is the Narrow No-Bre...

Re: feature request: open last document on start
It would be very nice if I could tick an option in the preferences to open the document or documents I have been using before I last closed it. Just for the record, this is an option I would never use. I very much dislike applications that presume to know what I want to work on. However, I do often...

Thanks, Janet. I already have tried the keyboard viewer and still cannot find the shaddah combinations. By the way, is there any way to print the keyboard viewer? That would be really helpful. I can then cut and glue on the characters onto my keyboard cover and make my own specialty keyboards for d...

I found the small yeh, I think, in the character palette. But I am still not able to find the combined diacritics (shadda + fatha or kasra) and other weird letter combinations that my professor writes on the board. Michael In System Preferences/International/Input Menu, make sure you have keyboard ...

Re: unicode tables, etc.
I am new to Mellel and a beginner student of Arabic. I have been struggling with this same problem, among others, with the fatha and kasra being mixed up in the shadda. Michael, my knowledge of Arabic is very, very limited, but I'll tell you how I solve the problem in Hebrew and you can check if Ar...

If you want to make a booklet I would recommend to make your styles with bigger fonts and use CocoaBooklet to create the booklet you want. I do things even easier: I prepare my booklet on full-sized pages (with bigger fonts), make a pdf version and send it to the print shop to be printed in booklet...
