This would seem to be a serious bug. I have since gone back to the previous version of Mellel, and hyphenation is displaying properly again.

Re: Mellel 3.4 is Here!

Since updating to Mellel 3.4 (on OS 10.9) hyphenation no longer works (and, yes, the paragraph style is properly set for hyphenation). Files that previously opened with hyphenation displaying now open without hyphenation. Has anyone else had this problem? If there is no fix, I suppose I will have to...

Re: Importing from Scrivener to Mellel 3.3 strips formatting

I have experienced the same problem and would also appreciate a solution. It happens not just when compiling and exporting from Scrivener, but also when simply copying from Scrivener to Mellel (and, no, I am not inadvertently pasting as plain text). The odd thing is that this problem does not occur ...

Re: New implementation of Find

I suppose I didn't really understand what Scroll to Selection is supposed to do. What I would like is a keyboard shortcut to switch the focus (cursor) from the Find strip back to the document.

Re: New implementation of Find

In the Find window, after having typed in a search term and pressed Return to initiate the search, I then either select Scroll to Selection from the Find submenu or press Cmd+J, but nothing happens. I am assuming that I should be taken to the search term in the document.

Re: New implementation of Find

Thanks for looking into this. On the same subject, how is Scroll to Selection supposed to work? As far as I can see, it seems to do nothing.

New implementation of Find

Does anyone else find the new implementation of Find annoying? Previously, if the Find window was already open and you wanted to do another search, Command + F would take you back to the Find window. Now, if the Find strip is open and you press Command + F, the Find strip is closed and you have to p...

Re: What's next for Mellel 3.4?

It would be nice to finally get support for Devanagari and other Indic scripts after having had it promised many, many years ago.

Re: Mr Mel drops like a stone w/trying to select & delete

I've never had any problems with selecting text, but it's easy enough to select large pieces of text without scrolling: place the cursor at the start of the section of text you wish to highlight, go to the end of the section and hold down the Shift key as you place the cursor at the end of the said ...

Re: Mr Mel drops like a stone w/trying to select & delete

Instead of scrolling through the text, you might try placing the cursor at the start of the text that you wish to highlight and then pressing Shift + Command + Down Arrow. This should select the remainder of the document instantly.

Re: Devanagari script

Support for Devanagari and other Indic scripts was promised years ago but has unfortunately never eventuated. If you really need to type Devanagari, you will need to use Nisus or some other word processor using Apple's text engine.

Re: Unable to create new note stream

Thanks for reminding me to try running Mellel under a different user. It turned out that the problem seems to be confined to my main user account. For the moment I have resorted to making a duplicate of a previous document already set up with the necessary note streams and pasting new documents into...

Re: Unable to create new note stream

I thought downloading a new copy of Mellel had solved the problem, but I now find that even in a new document no changes to the Edit Note Attributes Sheet are being saved. I don't really want to remove all the preferences, as suggested by Ori, since everything else seems to be working properly. Perh...

Re: Unable to create new note stream

I tried doing it in the order you suggest, but the result was the same, so I downloaded a new copy of Mellel (which was the same Build 3 I already had), and now there seem to be no problems. Very strange.

Unable to create new note stream

In the past I have happily used multiple note streams, but recently I have found that I am unable to create any new note streams. I have a document with footnotes, and I wish to add endnotes as well. I create a new note stream for endnotes in the Edit Note Attributes Sheet, set it up as I always hav...
