Re: Unlinking the Bookends database
Actually, I worked it out. As long as I don't "unscan" first, the formatted citations come over. Quite neat, really.

Unlinking the Bookends database
Is it possible to send a Mellel document (or to export to Word) with the citations in place as formatted text, and no link to the database? I want to send a document to a research supervisor, but he only uses Word on a PC. If I export my document to Word format, the citations revert back to their un...

Re: Bookends scanning problem
I'm not sure if this is a Bookends or Mellel problem. I have been able to scan Mellel documents with no problems up until last fall, and haven't changed anything except for updates. But today when I scanned my current document, it goes through all the motions, but no citations appear in the notes, ...

Re: Paragraph style for lists?
Yes, I just looove the style sets, but tables in particular almost make Mellel unusable. If I have to keep diving into Word to format my tables, I might as well stay with Word. I had the same beef with Scrivener. Their table support was/is so bad, I ended up going back to an app with no tables at al...

Re: Paragraph style for lists?
I agree, and I have set up paragraph styles just as you have. It seems strange that we link character styles to lists and not paragraphs. Surely if we plug in a paragraph style, the font comes too.

Paragraph style for lists?
Hi. I wanted to create a bullet list style that had single spacing, but I can't find how to associate a paragraph style with a list, only character styles. Is this a two-step process (make a bullet list, then select and apply paragraph style)?

Text orientation in tables
Hi all. I am trying to text in a table stub flow bottom-top. Surely Mellel can do this? I searched and only found requests for this circa 2006/2007. Please tell me that Mellel can do it, and I don't have to go back to Word??

Re: Mellel Can't Save Document
I get this a lot, but with other apps (never Mellel), usually Ulysses. It comes after something has maxed out processor. I have found that Mac OSX is a lazy beast when it comes to memory and CPU management, and I have to constantly free up memory manually using Clear Genius Pro. Sometimes, though, a...

Not exactly for the purpose you mentioned, but I have exported to Word format and I was very impressed by it.

Can OPML export include body text?
Hi all. I have searched on this topic, but nothing found from recent years. I would like to be able to export my whole document in OPML—including the body text. I want to do this so that I can send a finished document back into Scrivener, or into Omni Outliner. Will Mellel allow this in future? At p...

Re: lodging a complaint (Mellel too complicated!)
I'll follow from Boban, I still have to use Word for work, and yesterday I had to struggle with a table that had text copied in from another source (MacJournal). A dreadful experience, but made worse when Word suddenly decided to randomly change the indent of bullet lists within the table. No clue f...

Re: New Palettes
We plan to give more loving care to the small screen users soon. In the meanwhile, note that you can put all the palette in one stack which can fit in the smaller screen. Thanks. I just watched your YouTube presentation on palettes, and now I have a lovely, concise single palette. Great work, and t...

Re: lodging a complaint (Mellel too complicated!)
Again, its hard to keep everyone happy, isn't it? I use Mellel for one reason only: its method of defining style sets. After wasting so many hours fighting with MS Word's styles, quick styles, themes etc etc..., Mellel is a breeze to use. No doubt others will find Word's method (or Pages', for that ...

Generate a report of a style set?
It would be useful to export (or even just to display as a Mellel doc) all of a style set's settings. Most of us use Mellel with other apps, such as Scrivener or even MS Word. It would be useful to have that report so that we can configure the styles in other apps to be exactly like they are in Mell...
