Just an idea: have you tried saving your pdfs as PDF-X files? That should embedd additional font info etc. and might help in your case… Exactly what is the difference between PD and PDF-X (except the embedded font info as mentioned above)? One thing first: Fonts are also embedded in normal PDFs and...

All the screen pictures you added to your detailed explanation are unseen for me. The regular print window on my machine doesn't contain all these command as in your case: My problem is how to reach the Save as Image from the regular Print dialog opened from Mellel As already wrote above, the scree...

I used Times New Roman, the PC version. […] It is well presented on his screen. It is gibrished printed on his printer. He prints other Hebrew PDF files very fine. To track down the problem, it would be helpful, if we know what kind (or model) of printer he uses to print out the PDF file and what e...

Re: How do I get rid of the seconds place in the TIME insert

I'd like to be able to format the time indicator I get with Insert date and time. I'd also like it to be (optionally) dynamic. Is there a way? From the manual on page 92: Date and time format There are three format options for date and time insertion: Long Date, Short Date, and Time. The format is ...

Re: Tables.. Arrgggg

There is no way to select the bottom of the row and shrink it.. so I can see the data.. I can't copy it. When I try and select the table row to shrink it Mellel seems to go into some funky selection state.. I would love a solution to my problem.. but I suspect the best I can hope for is this opport...

My general experience has been that the more chip memory your computer has available, the faster and better all applications run The things you’ve wrote are true, but ÜberDybbuk already mentioned, that his PowerBook has 1,5 GB of RAM which should be enought to run OS X, Mellel with the Tutorial and...

Some PC users get confused when they see the rtf extension […] If you have these problems, simply change the rtf extension to doc [on the rtf file when you create it]. Word knows what to do with faux-doc files and your PC friends won't panic. If you regularly exchange files with PC users, I suggest...

You could save your files directly as Word files (with the .doc extension) by chosing File › Export › Word Format… . But unfortunately, the .doc exporter isn‘t all that good (if you use Footnotes, Endnotes, Tables and all the other stuff). A better solution is to use the RTF (Rich Text Format) expor...

I'm using a Powerbook G4 1.5GHz w/1.5GB RAM. OS 10.3.9. Seems like you have the same machine like me (but I use 10.4.7) so you should be able to open the document within the same time. During launch of the tutorial, the "spinning beach ball" occurs for the entire minute that it takes to l...

That’s a thing that not only happens to you. I’m also used to simply drag some files to Mellel’s dock icon and hope they would be opened properly. Only when this fails, I use the import method.

Have you opened it via File › Import › Plain Text… and selected the proper encoding from the then appearing dropdown menu?

Could you provide a link to this file?

Re: Mellel Tutorial for Beginners 2.1.1 Issue

The Millel tutorial(Millel format) takes nearly a full minute to open, every time. And during that period, the launching process can't be cancelled or stopped. Is this as God intended or is there a glitch somewhere? For whatever reason, I only could do some tests with the Mellel format because I ha...

A pre-XML version of Mellel won't be able to read my XML-converted document, right? So I guess I need Mellel 2.1. Have you got that one, too? I have almost every version of Mellel since 1.6.8 but the original 2.1 is the one I’ve missed (haven’t downloaded due to incomplete localisation files). You’...

Wouldn’t a character set from U+0370 to U+1FFE work? This set contains all your needed Greek characters (among others) but doesn’t contain the Roman characters (which are from U+0000 to U+0240 if you use a extended set)
