Re: Problem with iCloud Drive sync with Mellel for iPad
Thanks, that's interesting. Because I'm using the non-App Store version of Mellel 4 for MacOS, I was already using a non-default folder in iCloud Drive for my project. It was able to load properly before, I'm not sure what has changed in the mean time.

Problem with iCloud Drive sync with Mellel for iPad
I have been working on a long document in Mellel 4 for MacOS that I haven't attempted to open using Mellel for iPad for several months. When I try to open it by navigating to the iCloud Drive folder containing it using the "Browse" function, Mellel for iPad displays a blank document. Repea...

Re: Unable to delete styles
I was also curious about this. On p. 138 of the manual there is the following explanation: "If the style is not part of the current style set and is only available in the current document (these styles are referred to as Document Styles), it is marked by a black diamond." My understanding ...

ProWritingAid support for Mellel
The advanced grammar and style checker ProWritingAid now supports working directly with a variety of file types, including Scrivener files. It does not yet support the .mellel file type, meaning that it is necessary to export a document from Mellel before editing it. The developer of PWA has a site ...

Re: auto titles numbering
Sorry to hear you are still having trouble! I am working on a document with similar requirements (chapters are numbered, other matter is not). Although setting up the auto-titles was a little tricky, it worked out for me in the end. I still suspect that the issue you are experiencing has to do with ...

Re: Auto-titles in text boxes
How about if the auto-titles were to be placed immediately above the items that they reference rather than within them?

Re: auto titles numbering
The styling of the Table of Contents is done from the Auto-Title / Title Flows area. Once you have clicked "Edit Title Flows" a window opens up showing you the hierarchical structure of your document. Each level in the hierarchy has several different formats associated with it - the one yo...

Re: auto titles numbering
Maybe this will help: if you are looking at the Auto-Title palette and editing Title Flows, did you see that there is a "TOC format" area that needs to be set up separately?

Re: footnote numbering
Here's how I think you solve this issue: first, when you are editing the Title Flows in the Auto-Title palette, select your Chapters title flow and use "Insert Below" to insert a Section Break. Next, click Insert ==> Note ==> Edit note attributes and set "Numbering" to "rest...

Re: auto titles numbering
Hi Lucia - I have dealt with the same question. The way to resolve it is through the "Auto-Title" palette. Basically, you need to set up your chapters so that they are numbered (by using the "Curr#" element) and then create new title flows above and below them in the hierarchy th...

Bug report: "Last opened" giving incorrect date
Just a small detail: when I open Mellel 4 and see my list of recently opened files, the dates given for the last time they were opened will often be inaccurate (e.g. a document I know I opened today and worked on shows up as having been last opened two days ago). I am keeping my files in an iCloud D...

Dropbox and Mellel 4 for Mac
Is anyone using Dropbox as a solution for syncing between multiple Macs running Mellel 4? If so, I wonder if you know whether Dropbox's support for versioning works for Mellel files (it doesn't for Scrivener files, which is why I ask)? I realize that syncing with Mellel for iOS is another question a...

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully you will at least be able to export your existing bibliography from Sente and import it into Bookends.

Re: Getting rid of residual citation markers
Thanks DavidH - I actually haven't submitted a support ticket on this one. Your comments are very helpful and much appreciated. I did in fact replace the citations that had become corrupted using the Find & Replace approach you mention in your post (i.e. using the "Citation" placeholde...
