I opened a long document and find that throughout some paragraphs are reduced in size. The rest of the paragraphs are OK,

I checked the main font palette and it shows Times New Roman 12 for the reduced paragraphs and the OK paragarphs.

I have no idea how this happened.

I''d be glad of any advice to restore the fonts afffected paragraphs to proper wiewing.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

Check all the palettes that may effect character appearance:
-- Character Style (including variation)
-- Paragraph Style
-- Main Font (including size)
-- Secondary Font (including size)
-- Character Appearance

Is there anything in the smaller paragraphs that differs from the larger ones?

Also, try an experiment: select one of the smaller paragraphs. Manually reset the font and character size to something different. Then, reset to Times New Roman 12. ???

Janet,

Thanks for the prompt reply. The problem seems to have been in the Character Style.

I'm restoring the document now. Problem solved!

Thanks again.

Regards,

Jim
