Orphans/widows in footnotes

Hi,

I would like to avoid orphans and widows in footnotes by checking the "Keep lines together" option and choosing "At start/end of paragraph" and the value "2" for "Lines at start/lines at end".
However, this does not seem to work. Mellel nevertheless allows line breaks after/before the first/last line of a footnote paragraph.
This seems to be a specific footnote problem, because in all other paragraph styles I checked this option orphans/widows were actually avoided.
Any ideas?

I was just about to come and post about this myself when I saw your "bump" for this thread. Yes, please, footnote orphans/widows are both unsightly and a huge hassle for readers.
