Is there a way to bookmark an item within a numbered list and then cross-reference the number under which the bookmarked item appears?
For example:
HIGHEST SELLING CROPS
1. Fruit
1.1 Apple
1.2 Orange[BOOKMARK!]
1.3 Pear
2. Vegetable
1.1 Lettuce
1.2 Broccoli
"As you can see under item [CROSS-REFERENCE!], oranges are the second best selling fruit…".
Is this possible to do? I realize that cross-references work with auto-titles, and that lists are not autotitled. Is there a workaround?
Thank you.

Re: Cross reference to numbered list
Well, the most obvious workaround would be to use two lesser used structure-based Auto-Titles for the lists that you would like to reference in your text.
IIRC, Mellel gives you 8 levels of structured Auto-Titles. Use levels 7 and 8 for this list (or lists like it), and then you are free to use them in the text with cross-references. Of course, this only works if your document does not need more than 6 structural Auto-Titles, but it will still get the job done.
