Invisible bibliography details in palette

Post by Boban »

After one of the recent updates, I've noticed that the bibliographic items that normally appear n the bibliography palette are invisible. They appear in the document OK, but I cannot see them in the palette. I'm using Bookends 11.1.3.

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Boban.

Well, funnily enough, the problem went away after restarting Mellel. I'll keep my eye on it in case I need to file a bug report.

I have the same problem. Here's how I've reproduced it:

In the bibliography palette, when I press the "Refresh citation list" button, the citations become invisible. As Boban said, they are still there, and you can still click on them, but you can't see them. I can make them reappear by closing the document and reopening it. Not necessary to restart Mellel.

I'm using Mellel 2.8.2 and Bookends 11.1.3.

Just follow up; Premodernist is right, the refresh button in the palette makes the refs invisible. He's also right that a restart isn't needed to fix it, just closing and re-opening the document.

Thanks,

I have a similar problem which is persistent and easily replicable.
I often place citation with "^" caret to bring the author name out of the brackets. No problems in the document, but when I scan it, the citation gains a line return after the caret. So, if I bring the Edit citation panel, instead of (say)
^Stevens and Moultrie, 2011, #72869
I see
^
Stevens and Moultrie, 2011, #72869

It doent matter for the document, but in the Bibliography tool panel, I just get a long list of carets, like this
^
^
^
^
^

(Aside: I would love it if the Bib list could order the same references all together, ie ignore special characters like ^ / etc)
