I love the idea of the automatic layout switching. However, I am a Dvorak user, and so naturally, I need to assign the Dvorak layout to the U.S. English language.
I have discovered a bug that prevents me from making the change and having it persist without a lot of dinking around.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Enable Dvorak layout in System Preferences.
2) Open Mellel Preferences, Language. Select English
3) Change keyboard layout from U.S. to Dvorak.
4) Choose another language
5) Choose English again. Keyboard layout reverts back to U.S.
Now, I was able to get the change to persist by doing the following:
1) Open Mellel Preferences, Language. Select English
2) Change keyboard layout to None.
3) Select a different language.
4) Select U.S. English again. Now, for some blasted reason, it changes to Dvorak, even though I didn't tell it Dvorak this time.
So, clearly there's something is out of sync here between the UI, and the internal state of that setting.
Changes to Keyboard layout in Preferences will not persist
