I just tested this and was still having the same issue until I reset the palettes. Now it works. I closed and opened Mellel, and it still works.

So maybe try resetting palettes?

In my case that didn't solve the problem. Actually I've been resetting them before since that is the only way to make them reappear once I closed them (in full screen mode).

I don't know of any related third party apps…

For what it's worth, when I upgraded to Yosemite recently, my palettes suddenly started toggling again with the keyboard shortcut. I did an upgrade rather than a clean install, but whatever was causing this issue got fixed in the process.

OSX 10.7.5 Mellel 3.3.7b5 downloaded directly from Mellel server. Toggling back and forth with ^+cmd+F works and in full screen I even get two palettes, while normally, on a 15” screen, I only get one group.

Sadly, after updating (via Apple App Store) to Mellel 3.3.8, I've once again lost the ability to toggle palettes when in Apple's full-screen mode. This was a problem before Yosemite, was resolved with the OS update, and is now back again with the most recent Mellel update.

I can toggle the outline just fine, but I have to click "Reset Palettes" from the menu every time I want to show/hide the palettes (which is quite often).

Oddly, whereas the App Store shows that I have 3.3.8 installed, the "About Mellel" box states 3.3.0. Not sure why there is this inconsistency. The application package file info says 3.3.0 as well, but the application has a creation date of Feb 2.

FYI - I just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro running Sierra (OSX 10.12.1) and I can't get my palettes to show in full screen mode without using the menu command: Window > Palettes > Toggle Palettes. The shortcut doesn't work at all in full screen mode. It WORKS PERFECTLY, however, if I am NOT in full screen mode.

I have the same problem: palettes work in all views, except for full screen.

Update: In full screen, palettes will open only with Reset Palettes. After that, the palettes stay open, and there is NO further control of palettes (menu or shortcut).

Also, I have to use the keystroke: Command, Shift-* to toggle palettes.

OS 10.9.5
Mellel version: 3.3.6b5
Purchased from Mellel site.

I have the exact same problem as Megan and miles11. I'm running OSX 10.12.4 with Mellel from Kagi (latest version - 3.5.2b2).

I would like to ask people experiencing this issue to contact me directly (eyal@mellel.com). I was never able to reproduce this but with enough people reporting we may be able to figure this out.

Thanks to people who responded. Mellel 3.5.3 came out today and contains the fix to this issue, among other issues.
