A forlorn printing wish...

Hi all. I am hopefully in the final weeks of generating a PhD thesis and I am using Mellel/Bookends. When I am finished, I will write a brief report here about the parts of Mellel that really worked for me, and those parts that not-so-worked. But for now, I just thought of an idea that would have been great to have and maybe even exists in some undiscovered part of Mellel.

As you can appreciate, I make a lot of use of auto titles to structure my document. It would be really, really, really good if I could print a range just by selecting an auto title. So, right now I want to print Chapter 7. As I see it, I have to navigate to the first page of the chapter, make a note of the page number, navigate to the last page of the chapter, make a note of that page number, then go about the printing setup. I wish that I could just pull down Chapter 7 from a list of auto titles and tell Mellel to print that.

Interesting idea. We'll consider it. I'm afraid that at the moment, there is no way print these other then lookup the page numbers.
Looking forward to hearing your report, when it is ready.

This would be great. It would also be nice to be able to see word count and other stats for a section in this way.

YES! It would be able to right click on an outline heading and select "Print", "Export" and "Include in Word Count", "Exclude from Word Count" and to see the word count (rarely is all text included in a word count). Ideally, the user could also set word count targets for each section and see the progress. If Mellel is for writers, these types of features will pull it further ahead of the pack (and incorporate some of the nicest unique Scrivener features).
