Mellel 3.3 Beta

Cannot send bug reports from within Mellel 3.3 (3.3.0b27). I get the error message "(Couldn't send data. (Failed to connect (500))"

I couldn't find any emails from people complaining about this in our system. I would appreciate if people could post here the case numbers from our system (if they indeed got any email confirming the form submission).

Some comments on the beta:

1. It would be nice if the bug relating to document variables (the variables get inserted but not word-wrapped) would finally get fixed. As an aside, it would make more logical sense for Mellel to make document variables document specific (each document/template can have its own key/value pair, like Word and Nisus) rather than global variables.

2. Mellel has short and long date formats, corresponding to the Mac formats of Full (Sunday, January 5, 2014) and short (1/3/14). I'd like to see a medium Mellel format corresponding to the Mac long format (January 5, 2014). I think this type of format is used in documents much more frequently than the other two.

These two issues should be easy ones. The indexing obviously isn't going to make it this time...

Regarding variables not breaking, this is a limitation. We plan to fix it soon but not for Mellel 3.3.
Regarding variables being document specific. Well, they are, see File->Document Setup.
Date format, indeed we need to improve this rather limited feature but I'm afraid it will not make it into 3.3.

Hi all,

With build 31 of Mellel 3.3 we have what we hope is a fix for the "error 500" bug that prevented from sending reports directly from the app.
I would like to ask people who have experienced this issue to test this fix and confirm (or deny) the fix.
Simply open a report, type "test" as the subject and try to send it.
