I updated to Mellel 3.3 and now I am experiencing a significant delay when starting up.
Quite obviously this delay is linked to network activity (blinking LED's on the router) and I found out by the way CocoaPacketAnalyzer that Mellel is sending encrypted https-requests and getting responses to/from ssl.google-analytics.com.
Please stop tracking me using Mellel. At least give the user a chance to opt-out of this tracking, i.e. you may want to put a switch into the Preferences.

In Mellel, go to Help -> Privacy
The option to turn this feature off is there. It is probably a good idea for Mellel to display a dialog box before any data is sent that prompts the user to opt in or out.
More information regarding the what information is sent and for what is in the privacy window.
