Scrivener to Mellel 3.3 strips formatting - WHY?

Ever since my recent upgrade to Mellel 3.3, some character and word formatting I do in Scrivener is stripped upon import to Mellel. Specifically, bold font and italics are lost; underline is somehow still preserved upon import. Nothing has changed in the way I compile and export from Scriv, open up in Mellel, etc. But now, bold and italics are stripped upon opening in Mellel. Opening up in other writing apps shows that the compile-export from Scrivener does indeed preserve formatting, though it's removed in Mellel 3.3.

Thoughts on this? I imagine it's some simple setting that I just need to adjust. Any help would be very appreciated…

I have experienced the same problem and would also appreciate a solution. It happens not just when compiling and exporting from Scrivener, but also when simply copying from Scrivener to Mellel (and, no, I am not inadvertently pasting as plain text). The odd thing is that this problem does not occur if one first copies and pastes to Nisus and then copies and pastes to Mellel. But prior to Mellel 3.3 there were no problems copying directly from Scrivener to Mellel, and so the problem presumably lies with the new version of Mellel.

Oh, well at least there's a workaround via Nisus for now. Somewhat tedious, but not the end of the world while we await someone to help us with this!

I'm afraid that version 3.3 has some bugs regarding the RTF import (including pasting) from Cocoa applications (like Scrivener).

The good news is that Mellel 3.3.1 fix this, and we hope to release it real soon.

In the meanwhile, make sure to let us know if you notice any issues and use the crash reporter (the Mellel one, not the system one) to report crashes, if you encounter them.
