The combination of Mellel and Bookends has developed a problem regarding paragraph style. This has never happened up til now (using the most current version of both programs). I have over 200 pages and have never had an issue until the past few days.
Dragging citations from Bookends into Mellel the processor automatically matches the character/paragraph style to what is already set in the Mellel note. Good so far. However, after I add a page number to the citation (e.g. @23) and click "enter" or "ok" the paragraph style of the citation auto-changes to "systemParStyle" (the character style stays the same). Once changed, I am unable to change the paragraph style to "Note Text" or anything else. It seems locked somehow. The only option seemed to be to change the settings on this uberstyle that rules all others.
I looked at the Bookends settings and they are set to Mellel and, as I said, have never been troublesome before.
Any ideas?

Addendum:
I now know that if I close the program and reopen, the para. style remains the same, but it can be changed. Quite annoying though to do this each time (otherwise I have to mark all the citations I do to do en masse later).

Re: Mellel/Bookends Par. Style AutoCorrect
I'm seeing this too.
I primarily use Bookends citations in footnotes. If I create a new footnote and insert a citation from Bookends, everything is fine. If I then double-click the citation and add " @ xxx", validate it (by pressing the "?" button) and then close the citation window, the paragraph formatting of the footnote changes to "systemParStyle." I then have some difficulty trying to revert the style to my document's set footnote style (I generally have to add some text before the citation before it will allow me to reformat this.
This is definitely a new bug with Mellel v3.3.5b3 (I'm using Bookends 12.2).

Re: Mellel/Bookends Par. Style AutoCorrect
I see this mysterious systemParStyle too. And it's related to Mellel 3.3.5, also.
In my case it appears if I enter the in-text modifier "^" with Bookends citations at the beginning of a paragraph. After verifying such a citation (or in live citations mode) such a paragraph is reformatted and this unmodifyable style systemParStyle becomes attached.
But it is not related to Bookends, as far as I'm concerned: if I enter a citation manually with the "^"-modifier I get the same result.

Here's a link to a pre-release build of Mellel 3.3.6 (build 2) which should fix this issue as well as some other issues.
https://s3.amazonaws.com/mellel.sneakpe ... _336b2.dmg
Please let us know if that indeed fixed the problem.
