I am working on a dissertation. I have created several new auto-titles for things like "Acknowledgements," "Appendixes" and "Bibliography." The only major change between them and the first Auto-title is that there is no number (Roman Numeral). For my appendix, however, I have several subsections and have tried to use auto-titles levels 2-4. These will not reset since they are not under the first auto-title. Is there a fix for this or a work around? When I try to create an auto-title the ability to click "reset numbering" is not available to me. I cannot find any other way to change the numbering and I cannot use the chapter auto-title as the appendix should have no numbering.
Thoughts?

Re: Auto-Title Renumbering
Is there a way to reset an auto-title for one usage? Can I use Auto-title level 1 with no numbering?
Re: Auto-Title Renumbering
I have also tried creating my own set of auto-titles for the appendix, but I cannot get these to embed into each other (the option for "Prev. #" before Curr# is not available). It seems this is not a possibility with added auto-titles. Need advice.

Re: Auto-Title Renumbering
Can you provide an outline or excerpt from your TOC so that we may see exactly what type of numbering and hierarchy you wish to achieve? Without details it's difficult to give any concrete help beyond guesswork.

Appendix: A Paradigm Shift 6
Bibliography 62
The Appendix is basically another chapter (but would not fit as "Chapter VI"). It has six subsections (4 level 3s). If I use level one for the Appendix, it fixes the problem, but then numbers the appendix.

Re: Auto-Title Renumbering
Then why can't you do something like this:
The numbers preceding each line represent an Auto–Title level. For the Appendix, why can't you use levels 4 and 5? That way the numbering scheme is different from your I.1 format? Also, I'm assuming that your major sections are your top level, but un-numbered, correct? Also, you realize that you don't have to include each level of Auto–Title when you use the Prev# format, yes?
