TOC format bug?

I believe there is some sort of TOC bug that I'm encountering. My auto-titles are coming out exactly as specified, however my TOC is not properly applying the character format (in this case italics) - it is instead applying the format from the in-text auto-title. You can see on the image the setup, and right below you see an example. I have an image, but I'm not sure how to upload it here. Anyone have this issue?
