'Comments'

I am working with Arabic text, on which I must make frequent Comments (in English), perhaps as many as 3 to each line. Each Comment-box is the same pale yellow colour, and is connected to the highlighted text by a thin line, also pale yellow.

I understand from the developer that the colour cannot be changed, and I accept that. However, the combined effect of the uniform, pale colour and the thinness of the connecting-lines is that it is often hard to see to which highlighted word or phrase the Comment relates.

Is it possible to make the lines thicker or by some other means more distinct ?

In view of the difficulties that I have mentioned, I have decided completely to give up using Comments -- the visibility is simply too poor.
