Hello,

I would like to find out why a text presented in Mellel with a specific font and size and in this case I am speaking about the Font David size 12.
The first screen picture shows the comparison between Mellel text presentation and the same text on Word 2016 on PC
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rj1d1c4olwpb7 ... 9.png?dl=0
There is a difference in text presentation not in favor to Mellel.
The second Screen picture shows the same text on Mellel and on Word 2016 on Mac
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hnznyiow3osyd ... 1.png?dl=0
Once again the text is presented better on Word with the same font and size/ The third screen picture shows the same text but in Times New Roman Size 12 and the comparison between Mellel and Word 2016 on Mac
https://www.dropbox.com/s/jnd2xtlgtpxtq ... 7.png?dl=0

Is there way Mellel present fonts in larger way , without manipulating it.

The reason why you don't like what you are seeing is because the font mellel is showing you is not "David" but "Times New Roman" in all three examples you've shown. As a matter of fact "David" looks beautiful in mellel (as it is meant to look!). The reason why you are not seeing what you would like to see is because your primary font is probably "Times Roman" and you don't have a secondary font for the appropriate language (in this case Hebrew) set up.

If you are only writing in Hebrew, set your primary language and font to David. But it you primarily write in a language like english chose any font you like for english in the character palette and then go to options and chose as your secondary language Hebrew, and as your secondary font "David." You can give it any size you want, regardless of what the size of your primary language is. If you like the results you can set it as a permanent style.

Thanks for your reply.
I am a long time Mellel user but I forgot some of the basic configurations of Mellel including those of the primary and secondary fonts.
I found this tutorial which explains, not successfully for me, how to do it, here:
https://www.mellel.com/mellel-flare/Con ... 20Font.htm

I am having a problem finding where is this Option sub-menu as seen in the screen picture:

I'll appreciate your further assistance

I have done a new test with primary font as David 12 size, and secondary font is Times New Roman as can be seen on the first screen picture
https://www.dropbox.com/s/x5dlbsukyxhi1 ... l.png?dl=0
And then I have e opened this file with Word on Mac, and it shows as small as on Mellel the Hebrew
https://www.dropbox.com/s/1rvmvbhdy0tbv ... c.png?dl=0

And the changing of the situation, the same file withe same font and size in Word on PC. it is different

Why Mellel shows the same font but smaller

Hi Raymond, what file format did you use for exporting the document to Word?

Hi Raymond, it's kind of difficult looking into this with just the screen capture - can you please open a support request and attach the original Mellel and Word files that you were having these issues with?

It looks like you simply work with two different zoom levels. Mellel and Word both allow you to look at your paper at different sizes. In Mellel you can adjust the zoom at the bottom left of your Mellel window. There you’ll find a field that displays 75% 100% or 128% or a similar percentage value. If you click that number, you can set it to a desired zoom level. In Word, you’ll find that setting at the lower right of the window.

Hi Raymond and everyone,

There is another partially related issue with font size and English/Hebrew texts.

Because Hebrew fonts have to leave room for upper and lower vowel marks, the remaining space for the actual letters often looks small when placed on the same text line with English letters.

When I am mixing Hebrew and English texts on the same line, I usually set Character/Options/size = 110% or even sometimes size= 115%.
