The advanced grammar and style checker ProWritingAid now supports working directly with a variety of file types, including Scrivener files. It does not yet support the .mellel file type, meaning that it is necessary to export a document from Mellel before editing it.

The developer of PWA has a site where suggestions for new features can be submitted and voted on. I have opened a suggestion thread to recommend adding support for .mellel files. Please voice your desire for a Mellel integration to ProWritingAid with the ProWritingAid people. If enough people request this, I'm sure that they will add support for our file format.

Yes, ProWritingAid for Mellel would be great for me writing in English and not having it as my the first language.

I agree very much with Eyal that getting in touch directly with the people at ProWritingAid will let them know that there are users of Mellel out there who would like to use their service.

Just to give a bump to this thread: particularly if you have already subscribed to ProWritingAid, it would be great if you could drop their team an e-mail to let them know that you are a Mellel user and are keen to be able to revise your Mellel documents directly using the PWA Desktop App. Even if you are just in the market for a good grammar and style checker, it would be helpful to let the PWA team know that you are out there and writing in Mellel.

I am suggesting this because I have the feeling that the total number of Mellel users may look smaller than it really is, based on indicators like social media postings. PWA will obviously only invest in supporting the .mellel file format if they know that the user base is out there to justify the work.

Thanks DanZac. I haven't seen any signs of progress on this since I got in touch with the team at ProWritingAid about this idea in August 2017. Understandably, it looks like their efforts are focused on where the largest user-base is (i.e. Word and Scrivener). It's good to let them know that we Mellel users are indeed out here!

It is the only thing missing from Mellel, I would love to have some support when writing in English.
