I can't paste text with pictures from Safari into Mellel. Other word processors, including TextEdit, can do this.
When working in Mellel, l have to drag the pictures out of Safari or save them to the Desktop, then import them into Mellel. This is time consuming if there are many pictures.
Has this always been like that?

Re: Images from Safari can't be pasted into Mellel
Do you mean that it's not possible for you to select both text and pictures (from the same selection) from within Safari, copy it and then paste it into Mellel? If so, I got the same result when I tried. NWP handles this more correct and both the picture and the text is pasted into the document. Even Scrivener and Word 2016 handles it correctly.
