Find and replace formatting

Post by xoanohn »

I have a long document and I have some fonts in blue. Now, I want to change all the texts in blue to bold.
Can I do this with find and replace?

Yes, this should be possible with Find and Replace - here are the steps:
  • Open the Find tool and click the inverted triangle to open up the extended Find and Replace view
  • Click the triangle beside the Find field to select "Any Character"
  • Click the triangle beside the Replace field to select "Found Expression"
  • In your text, highlight a section which is formatted in blue and select Copy Special => Copy Character Attributes
  • In the Find field of the Find and Replace tool, highlight the "Any Character" symbol and paste the copied attributes over it using Command V)
  • In your text, highlight a section which is formatted in bold and select Copy Special => Copy Character Attributes
  • In the Replace field of the Find and Replace tool, highlight the "Found Expression" symbol and paste the copied attributes over it using Command V
  • Click Replace All
