I am using Mac OS Mojave, Mellel 4.2.9 and Bookends 13.4.2.
This is my first time using Mellel - for my PhD thesis which needs to be submitted in a few days, and I can't get the bibliography to generate.
I have scanned the document, but I don't get the pop-up window mentioned in the video clips, asking for the preferred format (I need APA, and have set this as the default in Bookends).
No Bibliography appears in the document.

Re: Bibliography not generating
One possibility. Bookends has a preference setting for Word Processor (top left of Preferences window). If that's not set to Mellel, then might be the culprit. If you've previously been using Word, for example, then Bookends might be set for Word.
You say that this is your first time. Do you mean today, in which case you probably have your thesis in a previous form, such as Word? If so, did you import the thesis into Mellel? If so, then the Bookends codes probably didn't come over in which case there is nothing for Bookends to scan (in Mellel).
Perhaps with more detail we could guess what the problem is.
