another weird full screen bug

Anyone have this one?

Sometimes when I go into full screen, I'll type for a bit, and then apple-i to go into italics. It won't do anything. I will swear at it for a bit, then jump out of full screen, but it still won't do anything. I'll try manually selecting italics in the main font section of the palette, and it will work, but as soon as I start typing it will jump back to regular face. The only solution I've found is to open up another document, start typing in italics in it, and then close it. Then it seems to work as per normal - doesn't require closing the original document or restarting the program. If I go back into full screen it works like a charm.

I'm using a powerbook g4 with 1.25 gig of ram, OS 10.3.9. I'll email a copy of the document I'm working with, if that would help - it also has the problem with jumping to a different location when I open full screen.

I wasn't able to reprocude that bug, it works just fine here

Is this difficulty font-specific Enkidum? If you open a new doc with a different font/style, can you reproduce the bug then?
I have had weird things happen with individual fonts in Mellel.
