no keyboard shortcut for footnotes

Post by FA1 » Tue Oct 10, 2006 11:28 pm

I'm not sure what happened, but somehow my template no longer has a keyboard shortcut for footnotes. In my previously created documents, the shortcut is still there. Any idea what's going on there, or how I might fix it?

FA1: fear not, this is an easy fix, methinks.

In the doc that is mistreating you, try this. Go to Insert > Note > Edit Note Attributes... In the sheet that opens, each of your note styles has a keyboard shortcut or (I suspect in your case) a little "-" [dash]. Click on the dash, and pick a keyboard shortcut. As you can see, it allows you to assign different shortcuts to your different note styles. Pretty neat.

You probably made a new note style and deleted the one with the shortcut.

Thanks, I don't recall ever changing any of note attributes so I didn't think to look there.
