File Size Not Shown & Attachment Problem

Post by mysheepb »

I upgraded from 2.0.6 to 2.1.1 and found that there is a problem in attaching the new .mellel files to emails with web mails like gmail or yahoo. I discover that the file size is not shown in list view of the folder, don't know if the 2 problems are related.

I've tried compressed and non-compressed files, the problem stays.

Please help

The new .mellel files are packages: that is, folders that look like files in the OS X Finder. I think Gmail and Yahoo Mail are not clued up about OS X packages, so they see them as folders. Presumably they do not allow you to attach a folder to an email.
A solution is to zip the Mellel file before attaching it. To do this, Control-click the file in the Finder and select 'Create Archive of "[your file name]" ' from the contextual menu. A file with the same name but extension '.zip' will be created in the same folder as the .mellel file. Attach this zip file to the email message.
