Does anyone have any examples of what Mellel can do regarding layouts? I am curious to see if Mellel can replace Pages in the way that Pages allows easy drag and drop of layout elements. For example, in Pages you can create a text element and then drag it somewhere else and then lock it in place.
Just curious.

Re: examples of layout
Even Mellel is not primarily an application you should use if you want to work with layouts, but it's more of a word processor, it's possible to some extent to work with layouts.
The closest to your request I can think of is to create a new document from within Mellel and select the template »Newsletter». Then you can insert a text box from the Insert menu (that you can use in any other Mellel document as well, but it's good to start with the help of the template containing a lot of text and graphics).
You can drag and drop pictures and graphics more or less everywhere inside a Mellel document.
