highlighting with keystrokes

I would like to see highlighting (using the last color used) be triggered by a keystroke combination.
This would make working in full-screen mode and highlighting easier, skipping the steps to regular view, then clicking the highlight color, then going back into full-screen mode.

Yes, seriously.

I was shocked — shocked! — to discover that the Redlers would have added a major feature without any keyboard shortcuts.
