Mellel's columns are very nice, but I am missing one important thing: variable width. I would like to be able to make columns with individual widths:

- enable user to set widths for columns by inserting a value in pts/cms/inches.
- enable user to set width for columns by inserting percentages of page width.
- enable user to set different gutter and line settings if there are more than 2 columns.
- If synoptical columns are implemented it would be great to have the option to set width automatically, which means that Mellel sets the width of the columns in order to waste as least space as possible.
