Hi,

Would it be possible to implement a new type of footnote stream, with the option of locating the notes at the side of the page, rather than at the bottom?

This would be really useful and makes for a much better reading experience, a bit like reading one's own hand-written marginalia. In the same way that footnotes are placed in a dynamically resizing segment at the base of the page, could we be able to insert notes at the same vertical point in the page that the reference occurs in a column to the right/left of the main text?

It would be good if the user could choose whether it would resize dynamically or not. ie. possible to fix the width of the margin.
