Table of contents and paragraph styles

Post by macula »

Hello,

I am having difficulties setting the paragraph styles to be used with my tables of contents. I have created a special paragraph style for this purpose, titled "TOC text." In the auto titles flow setup, under "TOC format" for each auto-title level, I select the elements to be included in each line of the table and double click on the aforementioned paragraph style in the Inspector.

That's where the problems appear: The tabs and margins of the "TOC text" paragraph style are not reflected properly in the "TOC format" ruler. It's actually pretty absurd.

Has anyone noticed similar issues?

Thank you.

This oddity has long been noticed.Don't worry about it. The space available in the Auto-Titles setup for TOC is not big enough to reflect the true position of tabs and margins, so only approximate them. When you actually generate your Table of Contents, you will find that your tabs and margins are as you set them in your Paragraph TOC setup..
