prevent hyphenation in single location?

I would have sworn that there was a way to prevent hyphenation in a single location without adding the word to the (global!) hyphenation dictionary. Now that I need it, I cannot find it. Was this feature merely the product of a hallucination?

I don't have the english Mellel interface, so these action names might be wrong:

You can prevent hyphenation by adding a "space" of zero length that keeps the two characters together.

This can be found from the menu bar: "add"->"special characters"->"space"->"zero length space that keeps the characters together" (these are my own translations to english . I hope this helps.)
