Protect a document from changes

Post by Jezpakani »

In Mellel 3.5.2b2 how do I protect a file from changes while it is opened? I want to lock a file when I am using it to teach a class then unlock it when I want to make changes later.

How about locking the file in Finder? Choose 'Get Info' and then click the appropriate check box.

Lock it in the Finder as the other poster just described.

Or, save the file as a PDF file for use with the class, and leave the original file closed. Then when you no longer need the PDF file just toss it.
