Dear all

Two comments on comments in 4.0

-when printing a text with (yellow) comments, the comments will be aligned on the left margin of the (A4) page. The problem is that printers always have a small non-printable margin. So that when printing the text, the left part of the commentaries falls into this margin and is not printed. The comments should be much closer to the left limit of the text so that to be printed fully.
-the comments should be possibly with a transparent background, both within the left margin and in the text, to be less eye-catching than this yellow and distracting for the work-flow

Dear all

No comment in 6 months on that? I am quite sure that I am not the only one with this problem. May be I wrongly retranslated from French: I meant the yellow annotations. When printed, they are on the very far-left side of the page, so that their left side is outside of the printed zone and is cut. The annotations should be closer to the right side of the left margin, aligned right or center of the margin, not aligned left.

I totally agree on this one. The text within the comments should be aligned, not to the left, but rather to the right to avoid the text in the comments to be cut off and not readable.

I fully agree with Etienne and Peter.
If you choose "Paper Handling" instead of "Mellel" in the print dialogue, there is a 'Scale to fit paper size' option there. Maybe that makes some difference. I haven't tested it myself though, because I'm about to abandon Mellel.

I tested the workaround Icelander suggested, but it did not work as well.
