Importing a PDF

Post by Chris Price »

Is there a way of importing a PDF directly into Mellel? I'm working on a Mac.

Do you mean import as text or as a picture? If you want to import the pdf as a picture you only have to copy the file in Finder and paste it into the Mellel document.

But if it's the text from the pdf you want to import to Mellel, that's another story. Then you have to either copy the text and pictures from within the pdf itself and then paste it into the Mellel document. I doubt the graphics or pictures will be pasted together with the text into Mellel, but the text will be pasted (but you have to format the text as you want it to be within Mellel after you pasted the text).

Another way is to use external services as that one at http://pdf2docx.com/. Upload the pdf to the site, convert it and then download it to your computer. Then you can import the new docx file to Mellel. It works, but you have to work with the result to make it look nice.

Hi, Peter. Thanks very much indeed. It's the simpler process I was after, so your reply was ideal; much appreciated.
