Feature request: Text wrap around tables

There really needs to be a way to wrap text around a table in the same fashion that you wrap text around pictures. That is required for a lot of scientific writing.
It's not a complete substitute, but you may find some utility in adding a section break, setting the new section to two columns with the "balanced" feature turned off, and you can put a table in the right hand column. Or, come to think of it, the left column with a column break to push the text over to the right column.
The down side - one of them, anyway - is you probably don't want to start or stop the two-column section mid paragraph.
Just a thought.
