Editing the footer text shrinks the footer width

Post by macula »

Hello collective wisdom,

I am trying to set up the footer in my style set. According to specifications, the page number must appear exactly 0.75 inches above the edge of the page and must not be enclosed in hyphens.

Now, if I begin to delete the hyphens surrounding the page number by default, the footer's height shrinks considerably. Put otherwise, even deleting a single character (e.g. the first or the last hyphen surrounding the page number), both the page number and the upper margin of the main text shift down!

Could a kind soul explain why?

Thank you.

I think it's a known bug. A similar thing happens when editing the header.
You can use the Layout -> Page style -> Edit page style menu item to change the header and footer without shrinking them.
