For awhile now my Mellel files have not been backing up (yes the boxes are checked in preferences). What can I do to correct the problem?

Try checking the permissions for the application support folder (get info), make sure you have read/write access.
Also, try setting the backup interval to 1 minute and watch the console (Applications/Utilities/Console.app) to see if there are any messages emitted from Mellel while attempting to perform the backup.

I can confirm the same issue on my system (Mellel 2.9.1 running on Mac OS X 10.7.2). None of the steps suggested by the Redlers yielded results.

I have had no problem whatever with backup files in Application Support/Mellel/Backup. I frequently use it.
Are you sure you are in your User library? (To get to the User Library press the option key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder.)
I am also using Lion 10.7.2 and Mellel 2.9.1 build 1.

Works fine here, too. (10.7.2, English as main language)

Yes, I am surely in the right folder yet Mellel fails to back up. Most backup file is dated on Sep 29 and I have used Mellel on several occasions ever since.DRB wrote: Are you sure you are in your User library?
