Document setup

Post by dantoe »

I need the A5 print size, ok I change this in the file menu, then go to Page> Style page, but there still A4 (210x297mm)? I don't understand!

Dantoe, I'm not totally clear what your problem is . . . I can't repeat it
1. I open a new document with my regular A4 setup
2. Click File/Page Setup/Paper size = A5
This gives me a 148x210mm page

What do you mean by "Page> Style"
-- the Page palette doesn't deal with the page size
-- the menu item Styles/Page styles allows you to edit existing styles or to create a new one [A5]

you understand very well, I did the A5 size (148x210mm) in Document Setup.
After I create a new page style, because the existing one is still A4 (210x297 mm), after I created a new page style and I see that it is set to 210x297 mm. It should be 148x210.

Dantoe
Document setup does not change the page size, page setup does

But, I see your problem: there is no way to create an A5 page style.
** I think we should report this to the Redlers

Until then I have a workaround
1. Launch Mellel to get the template page
2. select the default template
3. in File/Page Setup select page size=A5
4. File/Save as Template, name the new template A5 and save it
You can now use this new template to create A5 documents

I have already created a template A5, but now the characteristics of page style is unusable.
I have written to the developers, no answer.
We hope for the new version 4.0, now Mellel has too many shortcomings, including tables.
I have to look other word processors.
Thanks Janet!
