Index in Mellel 4. Feedback

Post by Icelander » Mon Aug 28, 2017 1:56 pm

I wished page numbers in the index would link to the corresponding pages. Double click on a page number should take you directly to the page where the indexed word appears. Would be a great time saver.

I also wished the Tags field in the Index pane had an autocomplete feature (like the Keyword field in Bookends or the tag field in Finder). It's such a nuisance having to manually *typ* in the same tags over and over again.

The index in the Mellel document is not a dynamic element - this is what makes it so light. However, when you export your document to a PDF, the index becomes dynamic and linked to the actual index marks in the document (so clicking on a page number will navigate to that page). For navigation within the document, using the Index pane is more common and convenient in our experience (right-click the Index Record, hover over the Index Marks option and click the desired page).
