Mellel 4.0.3b6 OS 10.12.6
I wanted to find a place in a longish file, but did not get any result although the parameters were correct. In fact, I discover that the search function just does not work at all. On another computer running the same version of Mellel but on OS 10.13.3 it works perfectly.
Rebooting the system brought the search function back on its feet, but what happens? I think I have had this problem before.

Re: Search function not working
There was a lot of "small" issues with Sierra, so I skipped it. But as all computers running Sierra can run High sierra, you may upgrade to avoid this problem.
For the technicality per se, you probably should send a support ticket to the Redlers (from experience, they might answer very fast).

Re: Search function not working
The most likely cause of this is that you had the search expression correct and the options correct but you also had set formatting (inadvertently) which caused the search to fail. If a search for a word you know exists in the document fails, make sure that the formatting for the find field is empty and if not, click the "Clear formatting" button to clear it.
