Using tables as text frame?

Post by cgott42 »

I'd like to have 2 separate texts together on the same page - one on the top 1/2 , then other on the bottom 1/2.
Is there a direct way to do this?
If not, can I create a 2 row x1 column table (turning the borders off or changing color to white.) and then put one text in the top cell of the table, and the other in the bottom. If so - will the software automatically extend the table to subsequent pages (as each text takes up 100's of pages)?

thx

The short answer to both questions is No. There’s no direct provision for accomplishing this sort of thing in Mellel or other word processors. For the smooth handling of documents involving multiple main texts or “stories,” each of which needs to be parceled over designated portions of multiple pages, you might need to look at Desktop Publishing programs like InDesign or Affinity Publisher.
